A woman was hurt and her 4-year-old son narrowly escaped injury after a car crashed into a home's backyard wall near 59th Avenue and Peoria Monday.
Authorities say the driver lost control of their vehicle, clipped a bus, then hit the 25-year-old woman and missed the boy before crashing.
Investigators say the driver saw the bus at the last second, maybe because of inattention at the wheel, and swerved to avoid it. The driver then hit a woman who had just gotten off the bus.
Lisa Givans says this is the second time someone has crashed into her home.
"Just a big crash..boom..and I knew what happened. 'Cause the first time it happened..I heard the same noise. I come out and there's a vehicle in the backyard."
Despite the crashes, Givans says she's not thinking about moving from the area.
The mother and child were transported to an area hospital. They're expected to be ok.
