KINGMAN, Ariz. -

A woman was arrested for allegedly kicking her 6-year-old son on Thursday night.

Deputies said 29-year-old Cassandra Dawn Poleahla kicked her son hard in the thigh and then dragged him out of a neighbors home in the 3200 block of Devlin Avenue.

The neighbor told police what happened and when officers went to Poleahla's home, she refused to open the door.

Poleahla eventually opened the door and deputies said she told them she didn not kick her son that hard.

Deputies asked to see her 6-year-old son and saw dried blood on his nose.

Poleahla went on to say she tripped on her son as she was trying to wake him up at the neighbor's house, officers said.

Child Protective Services took custody of her three children.

Poleahla was booked into the Mohave County Jail and faces child abuse charges.
