A newly released survey say that New York City hotel prices rose eight percent in the past 12 months and the city remains the most expensive to get a room.
The Hotel Price Index says that the average room price in the city is $205. That compares to $190 for 2011.
Honolulu nearly caught up to New York in the high-hotel price competition. Prices at the vacation hot-spot rose 17% past year and the average room costs $204 a night.
Boston came in third highest on the list with $204 average nightly rates.
The least expensive hotel city on the list was Columbia, South Carolina. The average room price rose $2 to $64 a night.
