Police have identified a man who they say shot and killed a young man who was trying to interrupt a robbery last week.

Police also believe that same suspect is responsible for several armed robberies.

18-year-old Vincent Quimayousie is facing charges including first degree murder, armed robbery, and aggravated assault.

Last Thursday, officers responded to Marivue Park at 5500 W Osborn Park for a shooting. Police say 16-year-old Andrew Murphy was shot trying to protect his sister.

The suspect had allegedly walked up and pointed a gun at her, attempting to rob her. When Murphy stepped in, he was shot in the chest.

Police arrested the shooting suspect a short time later, but held off on identifying him in order to locate any additional victims.

Anyone who had contact with Quimayousie prior to the shooting is asked to call Phoenix Police.
