A 60-year-old Prescott Valley woman was killed Saturday when the motorcycle she was riding crashed.
It happened about 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Crookton Road, east of Seligman. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says a group of 4 motorcycles were riding together when the lead motorcycle hit debris on the road and lost control.
The debris may have been a shredded tire.
60-year-old Cathy Pizzullo was a passenger on the lead motorcycle, which her husband was driving. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband suffered injuries to the head and chest.
The second motorcycle in the pack hit the first and that rider was also hurt. The 3rd and 4th motorcycle were able to avoid a collision.
The surviving riders were airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center. Everyone involved was wearing a helmet.
The investigation is ongoing and Pizzullo's cause of death will be determined.
