SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

A man was the victim of a drive-by shooting Monday night near Scottsdale Road and Williams Drive.

The man was going to drop off his vehicle at an auto shop on the 7000 block of East Adobe but it was closed.

The 39-year-old Tempe man left the business and thought he noticed a dark colored vehicle following him.

He thought it was strange and decided to do a U-Turn. As the victim turned the vehicle, the driver of a blue truck shot one round at the victim's car.

Police said the suspect fled and the victim pulled off the road and called 911.

The victim had a minor cut on his leg from a piece of the car door that broke off from the shot. He was taken to a hospital and released after being treated.

Police are interviewing a lead in the case.
