Coconino County Sheriff's officials say 58-year-old Jim Flanigan, of Las Vegas, was rescued from Oak Creek Canyon about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Flanigan's wife called the sheriff's office Sunday night saying he was overdue from returning from his 2-day solo hike on the West Fork trail.
A helicopter crew spotted Flanigan, who fell about 20 feet and sustained various injuries including a knee ailment that prevented him from hiking out.
Authorities say he was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
