Metro Detroit SYTYCD finalist Will Thomas was Kristina Boroja's star pupil

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK)
-- The rest of the country was introduced to a hot dancer from metro Detroit as a finalist on "So You Think You Can Dance".  However, local instructor Kristina Boroja already knew finalist Will Thomas could move.

As her students practice their many award winning routines, Boroja is with them every step of the way, just like with her prize pupil Thomas.

Does she get nervous for him?

"I do.  Every time my palms sweat.  I do in my stomach.  It's like the butterflies and you just want him to do the best job because I know he gets so nervous, but he's doing great."

Boroja opened the Adajio Dance Company five years ago and started teaching Thomas when he was 15.  She said he was the hard worker and leader in the company, so his prime time success is no surprise.

"I'm not surprised.  I'm not just because he's very lovable.  He can take that energy and present it to everybody and it makes you fall in love with him."

Thomas helped win many of the trophies proudly displayed at Adajio, and many of the dancers shared the stage with him.  They're now 100 percent "Team Will".

"First of all, he's amazing.  It's unbelievable, but I knew he was going to do something huge because he's just so incredible," said Rebecca Corrigan.

What does Boroja think Thomas needs to do to win it all?

"Keep doing what he's doing.  Make America fall in love with him."
