Fire that destroyed Waterford bowling alley remains under investigation

WATERFORD, Mich. (WJBK) -
Demolition crews remain on the scene Friday afternoon cleaning up after fire destroyed a Waterford bowling alley.
Witnesses tell FOX 2 they heard a loud explosion followed by a ball of fire at Lakewood Lanes on M-59 around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
"The front windows did blow out on the building," said Waterford firefighter Matt Covey. "We're not sure what caused that at this time."
Fire crews from Waterford, West Bloomfield and Bloomfield Township worked through the night to extinguish the flames.
FOX 2's Al Allen reports the alley had been closed for the summer. It re-opened just over a week ago and was closed for the evening when the fire broke out.
One firefighter suffered a suffered a minor shoulder injury was taken to a local hospital, Allen reports.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
