BERKLEY, Mich. (WJBK) -

It's not very large, but very noticeable and extremely offensive.

"I was sick to my stomach.  Not again," said Doreen Jones.

On this rainy Thursday morning, she went to grab an umbrella from the back of her minivan sitting in her Berkley driveway.  That's when she noticed the N-word and a swastika carved into the back hatch.

"The words have no meaning to me.  I don't use those words.  I don't even know what would bring those words on."

Jones is not sure if she is being targeted and if they are the same people.  She said two years ago she got hit multiple times on another side of her minivan and with the same sort of vulgarity.  It looks like they used the same tool.

"It started out with profanities like the word 'penis' and 'PMS' and fingernail polish.  Very juvenile."

Jones made a police report.  Officers promised they would step up patrols.  She can't afford to get it fixed, so in the meantime black duct tape will have to do.

"When you have insurance, you have deductibles.  Kids don't realize that.  That comes out of your pocket."

Jones has lived in her Berkley neighborhood on Royal Avenue for a decade.  She doesn't know who could have it out for her.  She's urging her neighbors to be vigilant.

"If we really have people like that in the neighborhood, that kind of hate, I'm worried for my neighbors and myself."

Some Detroiters say their neighbor is hoarding dogs. She has been accused of doing it before. In 2011, 25 dogs were removed from her home, but we're told a case was never brought.
