Taser used during Sterling Heights gas station robbery

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) -- It's video that is hard to watch as two clerks at a BP gas station at 18 Mile Road and Mound in Sterling Heights were forced onto the ground at gunpoint. It happened at 3:15 Friday afternoon. However, it wasn't the guns alone that had the victims yelling.
Sterling Heights Police say William Bates and Kevin Wyatt are the two men accused of using a taser to get the victims on the ground, robbing them.

"Violence that you see in the station between the suspects towards the clerks, it's ... very unsettling," said Lieutenant Luke Riley with Sterling Heights Police.
The unsettling robbery was just the start. The two suspects got away in a Crown Victoria. Emmanuel Brown is accused of being the getaway driver.
The three men are now in jail. Riley said his officers deserve a lot of credit for making sure no one was hurt as they nabbed their guys.
"The pursuit went very well. Officers did exactly what they're supposed to, did a great job, and then once the suspects crashed and fled on foot, they again did a great job."
The suspect's car crashed into a utility pole, then the men took off on foot. Officers with the help of canine nabbed all three.
"They're going to go to whatever means necessary to accomplish what they want to do," Riley said.
The same determination from police that led them to their three suspects.
The three men now face a laundry list of charges in this case, including resisting arrest, felony firearm and also armed robbery. Each of them are being held on $1 million bond.
