The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens says a jury deliberated about three hours Thursday before convicting 33-year-old David Montaldi on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree child abuse.
Montaldi faces a mandatory minimum term of 25 years in prison because the victim was under 13. He will sentenced Aug. 28 in Macomb County Circuit Court.
A jury was unable to reach a verdict in the case earlier this year. Montaldi was charged with first-degree child abuse and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Montaldi claims he slipped and dropped the girl in December 2010 in Mount Clemens. He formerly worked at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center.
