FBI agents are on the trail of a group of serial bank robbers who've successfully robbed banks all over the valley. And their crime sprees may not be over.
Investigators have come up with creative names for these suspects. One who has struck 3 times is a woman.
She goes in and presents a note demanding money with her hat and sunglasses. Investigators call her the Baseball Babe.
"One she is a female, she is somewhat youthful and she wears a baseball hat in every robbery," says FBI Agent Lance Leising.
So far she's hit three banks all in Mesa in just the past few months. The latest came on June 28.
"We have not seen a weapon, witnesses have not described a weapon. They have seen her fleeing on a bicycle after one of the most recent robberies," says Agent Leising.
Then there is this guy. He goes in dressed as a woman, he wears extravagant costumes and agents have nicknamed her Mrs. Doubtfire.
Unlike the hilarious movie character, nobody is laughing when this guy walks in.
"He doesn't put anybody to the ground, he doesn't yell and scream he just talks to a few employees, threatens and demands money."
Investigators know he's responsible for two robberies in the west valley but he may be involved in as many as 6.
"He actually has full face make-up on, sometimes make-up like a woman, other times it looks like the joker," says Agent Leising. "People watch movies and we get copycats all the time. We have to be aware of that also."
But this guy, whose hit two banks in Mesa, doesn't bother with much a disguise. He's older and he's known as the Bucket List Robber.
"He is a little bit older. Older than our more common bank robbers. This is something he's doing later in life, maybe to check off that list."
He pulls out a gun when he strikes, and that worries investigators.
Late Wednesday afternoon we got word from the FBI that the robber known as the Baseball Babe may have struck again, at the Arizona Federal Credit Union near Power and Southern in Mesa.
