DETROIT (WJBK) -
According to the Detroit Police Department's own statistics, there have been 144 murders as of June 3. That's up 5.9-percent.
At the corner of Farnsworth and Parker, Detroit Police were busy Monday, at work investigating the city's latest murder. A crowd gathered and family mourned.
We don't know a lot yet about the murder other than the victim is a 33-year-old man shot to death. His body was discovered by his mother.
Meanwhile, those that live in the area are no longer surprised at the senseless violence taking over their neighborhood.
"We [have called] the police so many times for getting shot at around here. It's like I'm used to it," one woman told us.

Tucker Cipriano and Mitchell Young both entered pleas of not guilty Tuesday in the brutal attack on Tucker's family. We're learning both of their attorneys want separate trials.
