Did you get a chance to look up at the sun today? A lot of you did, and emailed us about noticing a halo or ring around the sun.
It's not uncommon, but still a pretty cool thing to see.
NASA scientists say the phenomenon has several names, including 22-degree halo, icebow, and gloriole. It is an optical phenomenon produced by ice crystals in cirrostratus clouds that are usually at altitudes above 20,000 feet.
The crystals act as prisms, creating a narrow rainbow-like halo effect.
