Metro Detroiters voted FOX 2 News as the best local news in the Motor City, according to Real Detroit Weekly's annual Real Best of Detroit issue.
The magazine asked readers to vote for their favorites in and around the city in nearly 400 categories, including Best Media.
Our own Huel Perkins was voted Best Local Anchorperson, while Dan Miller won Best Sportscaster and Jay Towers was named Best Media Personality. This is second year in a row that Huel has been named Best Anchor.
In regards to the newscast, the magazine writes:
"You
have to hand it to Fox 2 for keeping things interesting. Sure, you'll
get your daily dose of local news, but you'll probably be genuinely
entertained while you're at it. Just check out one of the heated panel
discussions on "Let It Rip," or one of Charlie LeDuff's dramatic,
high-energy reports. (Will someone put that guy in a Bruce Willis movie
already?) It's the news you need, with an intriguing, enthusiastic
edge."
