One more thing, about the Memorial Day weekend.
It marks the beginning of summer. Although as a kid those long days and warm nights of summer vacation seemed to last an eternity, the season of sun goes by faster and faster the older you get. It's a cruel fact of life.
Years ago, Bob Greene wrote a column in the Tribune that I always remember right before this holiday. It was about thinking of summer as valuable pebbles in a jar. We each get only so many. Withdraw them with care and value each one. Savor every day, every summer night. Keep an eye on summer. Don't let it get away from you.
So, start slowing it down now. Go sit out in front of your house for a while tonight and soak it up. You'll thank me in September.
And let me add a reminder here that Memorial Day means something more than a mattress sale. Take some time to think about all those who have died in our nation's service.

Over the weekend, the Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller "Oblivion" was number one at the box office. But the movie I'm talking about wasn't even in the top ten.
