2 Arrested in Phoenix Park Murder

Posted:

He was shot and killed while out for his evening walk Tuesday night. By Wednesday night, Phoenix Police say they have developed probable cause to arrest two 17-year-olds in connection to Milton Raffle's murder.

The two juveniles are facing homicide charges. Brandon Roberts and Nadeem Alferikh were processed at Phoenix Police headquarters and transported to the Maricopa County Juvenile Court Center.

Police say they aren't looking for any more suspects at this time. Booking photos are not yet available.

78-year-old Raffle left his home about 9 p.m. Tuesday to go on his nightly walk in the Sand Lilly Park near 25th Avenue and Cactus, just east of the Black Canyon Freeway.

The father of four and Korean War veteran was found at about 12:30 a.m. near a walkway in the park. Police said Raffle was unconscious and unresponsive and had suffered severe trauma.

Milton didn't take his wallet or his ID on the walk, family members told FOX 10. He didn't have any money with him.

"He would walk that area..he knew the area..he knew the people in that area..he's just not the kind of guy that would have resisted if someone needed something, all somebody had to do was ask him for help," said his son, Beau Raffle.

Milton only walked at night because he cared for his sick wife during the day, his family said.

The motive for the killing is unknown.
