Police Confirm Woman Killed in Double Homicide Was Pregnant

Posted:

Shock is wearing off and grief is setting in as friends of two murder victims visit the Phoenix home where the women, both 27, were slain.

A memorial of pictures, flowers and candles lined the front of the home where the bodies of Nicole Glass and Mellisa Mason were found.

Friends of Mason said that she had recently found out she was expecting a baby, and she was very excited to be a mother.

On Sunday, police investigators confirmed Mason was pregnant.

Mason’s friends said she always had a smile on her face and had no known enemies or trouble with the law.

One of Mason’s friends said she would not find peace until the killer was brought to justice.

Glass was named in a case involving dozens of other defendants -- many of them facing serious felony charges, but the county attorney dismissed charges against Glass.

Police have not connected any other criminal activity to the case, but Glass was listed as a defendant in a case involving 60 others, many of them facing serious charges of theft, drug violations, kidnapping and prostitution.

The money laundering, conspiracy, and illegal control of an enterprise charges were dropped against Glass, but sentencing and even more trials for other defendants are ongoing.

The home where the bodies of Glass and Mason were found was going to be sold as part of a foreclosure, but the trustee's sale was canceled in November.

Police said there was no evidence of a break-in at the home. They do not have a suspect.

Mason’s family has setup a bank account to help pay for her funeral costs. Anyone wishing to donate can go to Bank of America and give to Account No. 457018126668.
