There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the death of a valley inmate tased at the 4th Avenue Jail.
Tuesday night, friends and family are gathering to remember him.
The visitation for Ernest Marty Atencio is happening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Peoria. He will be laid to rest Wednesday morning.
Atencio was found unresponsive after he was booked into jail last month.
Deputies say he became combative, so he was restrained and had to be put in a "safe cell.”
15 minutes later he was found not breathing. Doctors believe he was tased five or six times.
