A Des Plaines man is on the run from the feds following a deadly, drive by shooting on the city's south side.
Twenty-four year old Ali Sattariaghdam has been the target of an international manhunt by Chicago FBI agents for over a year now. He's wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that happened on February 21, 2010, at a house party in the 43-hundred block of West Potomac.
Chicago police identified Sattariaghdam as the gunman who fired several shots from a car that pulled up outside the party around 4 a.m. While two people were injured, 16 year old Rogelio Escalante was shot and killed. The drive-by shooting followed an altercation at the party that happened two hours earlier. Investigators say there is no indication Sattariaghdam and Escalante knew each other and that the shots were fired at random. They also believe the shooting may be gang related. Cook County prosecutors have charged Sattariaghdam with first degree murder.
After looking for him at his Des Plaines address, investigators learned Sattariaghdam bought a plane ticket to Iran and flew out of O'Hare on the day of the shooting. He hasnt been seen since but agents say Sattariaghdam may be back in the Chicago area because he has friends and family here. His last known address was in the 9000 block of Terrace Place in Des Plaines.
Here is what investigators say Sattariaghdam looks like. He is described as a Middle Eastern male, 5' 8, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
