31 year old Javier Juarez has been on the run from the feds for nearly five years. Cook County prosecutors have charged him with killing his girlfriend, Maria Soriano. Chicago police and FBI agents say Juarez stabbed Soriano during an argument at his west side home in the early morning hours of August 16, 2005.
Investigators believe Juarez took a charter flight or Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that same morning and hasnt been seen since.
What's also helped Juarez disappear is investigators say he doesnt have any fingerprints on file.
Without that they say its very hard to track his whereabouts. Agents say Juarez could still be in Mexico or right back here in Chicago. Without those prints, the FBI's Tom Trautmann says a fugitive "could have been arrested several times and as long as they're using some fake id to back that up, nobody would ever know. We hope that by airing his photograph and the general public seeing it, someone will recognize him (Juarez) and call in."
To make matters worse, agents know of at least two aliases Juarez uses: Carlos Doriga and Victor Zain Galan Juarez. They also say Juarez has a twin brother named Geraldo Juarez and may be using his twin's identity to help him hide.
Here is a detailed description of what agents say Juarez looks like. He is described as a hispanic male,
about five feet eight inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds, with dark hair and eyes. He also has two tattoos: the names "Maria" on his neck and "Samantha" on his upper right arm.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
