In this economy, if you have a job, you'd better hang on to it. But career counselors still see people making the same stupid mistakes that get them fired.
"I think the first thing you have to remember in the workplace is to adhere to common sense," said Jason Lovelace of Careerbuilder.
Watch what you say. Do not gossip with coworkers.
No drama. Do not cause trouble on purpose.
Do not be late.
Do not sleep.
Do not do drugs.
Do not lie.
Do not steal. This applies to everything from Post-Its to company time. You can't study for your realtor license online when you're getting paid by someone else.
Do not reveal company information.
Do not waste company time on Facebook and Twitter.
