Gayle Jansen has been a sports reporter/anchor at FOX 10, KSAZ-TV since 1999. She has covered some of the biggest sporting events in Arizona history. From the Diamondbacks World Series run in 2001, to the Cardinals journey to the Super Bowl in 2008, to what is considered the greatest college football game ever played, the 2007 Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma. Gayle has been right there reporting on all the action. She is also known for her exclusive off the field features on the valley's biggest sports stars.
Prior to Arizona, Gayle was the weekend sports anchor at KEZI-TV (ABC) in Eugene, Oregon, where she covered the Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers and Portland Trailblazers. She also hosted and produced a highly successful outdoor series called Oregon Outdoors. In her series she showed viewers how she learned to rock climb, kayak, scuba dive, skydive, and fly fish to name a few. This led to her hosting a national series called Great Hikes on the Outdoor Life Network.
Gayle's brother, Dr. Perry Jansen, is a medical doctor in Malawi, Africa. Gayle created and organized a fundraising event, Assist 4 Africa, which has raised over $150,000 for her brother's medical center, Partners in Hope Medical Center, over the past few years. Some of the biggest names in the valley have participated in her basketball and softball games.
Gayle is married and is the mother of identical triplet girls. She is also an avid golfer and exercise/outdoor enthusiast. She completed her first marathon, the Monaco Marathon, while raising money for UCP. She also successfully summitted Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. She has her B.A. Communications degree from Pepperdine University and is currently working on a Masters Degree from Chatham University.
