Jeremy Campbell

Jeremy Campbell joined the FOX 13 News team in June 2010 as a multimedia journalist. He shoots, writes, and edits his own stories. Campbell has worked as a "one-person news crew" everywhere from the coast of California to the Nile River in Africa, earning four Emmy nominations in the process.

At FOX 13, he's covered a variety of stories, including the final space shuttle launch and landing at Kennedy Space Center and a behind the scenes tour of the White House. While on vacation, he sustained a direct hit from a tornado during the 2011 Super Outbreak and jumped into reporter mode, covering the damage with his cell phone. His career reached a new height in Tampa when he fell 13,000 feet alongside the U.S. Army's skydiving team.

Campbell's news career began while at WGNO in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005. As a reporter/anchor at KLFY in Lafayette, he covered Louisiana's hurricane recovery effort extensively. While working in Birmingham at WBMA, he filed reports from both the Republican and Democratic national conventions in 2008 and the Obama Inaugural in Washington D.C.

He's a past winner of the Edward R. Murrow Award for feature reporting and the International Reporting award from the National Association of Black Journalists. He's been recognized by the Associated Press in Louisiana and Alabama, and was named best reporter in the state by the Alabama Broadcasters Association.

His television career began in Opelika, Alabama when he was a sophomore at Auburn University. At WSWS-TV, he created and hosted a talk show shot on location in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Birmingham, and New Orleans.

Campbell's favorite news stories are the ones that make a difference. If you know about a story that needs to be told, email jeremy.campbell@foxtv.com. You can also follow Jeremy on Twitter @JeremyFOX13 and on Facebook at Jeremy Campbell-FOX.
