Melissa was born in Island Park, Long Island, a suburb of NYC. She graduated West Hempstead High School.
Melissa started her television career in Secaucus New Jersey as a writer at WWOR-TV. Then she headed west to Kansas City as a reporter for 4 years before going to Moline, Illinois as a main anchor for two years. She headed to Dallas, Texas after the birth of her twins: A boy and girl.
Among Melissa's most memorable moments include covering the Fort Hood Shooter Army Major Nidal Hasan, the crash of TWA Flight 800 and the Bridge Collapse in Oklahoma. Favorite stories include experiencing zero gravity.
She, her husband and their twins make their home in Carrollton.
