(New York Post) - Sweden's Princess Madeleine reportedly fled to New York after breaking up with her cheating fiance, the New York Post reported Thursday.

The Swedish royal court announced Princess Madeleine's split from her lawyer boyfriend Jonas Bergstrom on Saturday, only after she left Sweden to hide out in the Big Apple, according to the newspaper Aftonbladet.

Madeleine, 27 -- ranked the 12th "hottest young royal" by Forbes magazine -- is a top target of paparazzi.

The Swedish royal court did not give any explanation for the break-up.

But Norwegian magazine SE og HOR reported that Bergstrom had a fling last year with a 21-year-old Nordic handball player.

Tora Uppstrom Berg told the magazine she hooked up with up Bergstrom last April at a Swedish ski resort.

"Had I known he has a girlfriend, I never would have done anything," the other blonde said.
