Osama bin Laden Hunter Snapped Up by PR Firm

(NewsCore) - The American construction worker arrested in Pakistan for hunting for Osama bin Laden arrived in the U.S. Wednesday -- and on returning was immediately snapped up by a public relations firm.

Gary Brooks Faulkner made global headlines after he was arrested last Monday in a forest in northern Pakistan, in a bid to track down and kill al Qaeda leader bin Laden -- on his seventh such mission to the region.

Faulkner, 50, arrived in Los Angeles from Dubai after he released with no charges.

On his return, public relations firm The Publicity Agency announced on the PR News Channel website that it was representing the "heroic" American, who set out to hunt down bin Laden with a pistol, sword and night-vision equipment.

The Publicity Agency -- which was founded by former TV news reporter Glenn Selig and counts former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagoejevich, who is being tried on corruption charges, among its clients -- released a statement saying it would tell Faulkner’s side of the story.

"I believe the public wants to know about Gary Faulkner, and why he wanted to risk his life a half-world away and try to do what so many, quite frankly, would love to do if they had the guts and time and know-how," Selig said in the statement published on the PR News Channel website.

"To many, Gary Faulkner is a hero for trying to hunt down public enemy number one because they believe he tried to do what should have been done years ago. Gary Faulkner clearly has an incredible story to share with the world and we will help him do just that."

Faulker, who was once a Boy Scout and became a devout Christian while in prison, had told authorities that God told him in a dream to avenge 9/11.

Usama bin Laden is responsible for leading terrorist group al Qaeda.

In its devastating attacks on September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners and intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings.

Another was flown into the Pentagon and the fourth brought down in a field as passengers fought back.

Faulkner’s sibling Dr. Scott Faulkner told CNN that his brother did not feel the U.S. government was doing enough to bring bin Laden to justice, adding that Gary Faulkner "was not afraid" to act himself.

"My brother is not crazy. He is highly intelligent and loves his country, and he has not forgotten what Usama has done to this country," Scott Faulkner said.

Faulkner suffers from high blood pressure and kidney problems, which relatives said required dialysis, AFP reported.
