Two men have died in a weather-related crash during a heavy dust storm near Casa Grande Saturday.
DPS investigated a total of five crashes on I-10 between milepost 190 and milepost 216 Saturday.
Two people died in a rear-end crash on I-10 about 10:30 a.m. Saturday. DPS says a minivan was traveling eastbound at an "unreasonable speed" when it plowed into a tractor-trailer that was traveling at a slower speed in the same direction.
The driver and a passenger of the minivan were declared dead at the scene. The driver is identified as 40-year-old Baldomero Lopez of Glendale, and the passenger is identified as 48-year-old Rigoberto Palacios of Phoenix.
A third occupant of the vehicle, 15-year-old Osmar Lopez-Hernandez, was transported to a Phoenix hospital with injuries.
DPS says no one in the minivan was wearing a seatbelt. The two occupants of the tractor-trailer were uninjured.
None of the other weather-related collisions were fatal -- but many people suffered injuries.
