SUN LAKES, Ariz. - The Sun Lakes community in the southeast Valley was hit hard by the Friday night storms. People living there say it looks like a tornado tore through their neighborhood.
Theresa Fullerton is recovering after a wind gust swept through her home and she was hit by a shingle.
"I went to put the garbage out and as I opened the garbage lid a shingle came... hit me on the head," she says. More flying shingles hit Fullerton's hands and feet, giving her a big gash.
The wind blew the shingles off the home next door, and also tore a hundred-pound cooler off the roof.
"It's really damaging," says Terry Haas. It's taken off most of the roof -- the whole back part of the roof is gone."
The wind also ripped a huge tree right out of the ground, which smashed into a brick wall.
No one was seriously hurt.
