Truck Driver Returns to Scene of Motorcycle Crash

PHOENIX - A motorcyclist is in serious condition Saturday afternoon after he was struck by a semi-truck Friday night.

The collision occurred at about 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of NW Grand Avenue in Phoenix.

Two additional motorcycle riders involved were not injured, said Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos.

Police originally said the driver of the truck fled the scene.

Martos said Saturday that the driver later returned to the scene and said he had not been aware he was involved in a collision until after he stopped to remove a load from his truck.

He said the truck driver was not cited for a hit-and-run.
