Jumper Closes I-10 EB in West Valley

TOLLESON - Travel on I-10 was restricted Wednesday after someone jumped from an overpass in an apparent attempt to end their death.

It happened about 4:20 p.m.

DPS spokesperson Bart Graves says that someone fell in the emergency lane of eastbound I-10 at 91st Ave, near the Loop 101 and I-10 intersect.

The victim apparently jumped off the bridge to attempt suicide. The victim was transported by air to St. Joseph's Hospital.

The latest on the victim's condition is not available.

Tolleson Police are investigating.
