Photo Enforcement Camera Removal Starts

PHOENIX - Photo radar cameras on valley freeways have been turned off since July. But by the way people still slow down for them, it seems like many people haven't gotten the message.

But they will when those cameras start disappearing, and that starts Tuesday in Mesa.

Three cameras along the US 60 will be camera-free in just a few hours.

Earlier this year, the Department of Public Safety decided not to renew its contract with Red Flex, the company that operates the cameras.

Note: ADOT's schedule for removing the former photo enforcement program is subject to change and is not controlled by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Removal times can be anywhere from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
