Coyotes Recall Heshka, Return Boedker to Minors

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes recalled defenseman Shaun Heshka from their AHL affiliate in San Antonio and sent forward Mikkel Boedker back to the minors on Friday.

The 24-year-old Heshka had two goals and two assists in 13 games with San Antonio this season.

Heshka was acquired by Phoenix from Vancouver in a June 27 draft-day deal in exchange for a seventh-round pick.

The 19-year-old Boedker had been recalled from San Antonio on Tuesday. He played in Wednesday night's loss at Colorado but was a healthy scratch in Thursday night's home game against Chicago.

Boedker, who was Phoenix's first-round draft pick in 2008, was first sent to the Ramage on Oct. 14 after he went pointless in five games for the Coyotes.
