SURPRISE - A new bed and breakfast is opening up in the valley, and it's catering to military families.
A house near Bell and Reems in Surprise was converted to a bed and breakfast. It's free for families who have lost a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Debbie Lee came up with the idea. She lost her son in the Middle East and knows what those who are left behind go through.
"The grief, the memories in your own home, you see the pictures on the wall of your loved one, their belongings. Sometimes that is hard to deal with in the beginning, so it’s a place to get some rest, a place to get some hope and encouragement, and a place where someone knows what they are going through," says Lee.
The open house for the bed and breakfast for military families is next Sunday.
