Someone could be listening in on your cell phone calls and using your phone to track your every move without you even knowing - and depending on who is doing it, it's completely legal.
That cell phone conversation that you think is private may not be. Someone could be listening in to not only what you say, but also what you text.
There's a new web site that allows a person to download spyware onto a cell phone. Once on the pohne, a person is able to listen in on phone calls, see text messages and even hear what's going on in the same room the phone is in...all while the cell phone's user is not aware of any of the activity.
"So this text message means that he has made a call. Now we're gonna redial and conference ourselves in on his conversation. We just mute it; he can't hear that we've joined tha call. I just can't believe that they have no clue that I'm now listening to this conversation." said "Jennifer" a cell phone user.
Currently, the spyware can only be put onto a phone if it is physically connected to a computer, but experts say it won't be long before people will be able to remotely send spyware to a cell phone.
It may even be legal in many cases. Employers could put the spyware on a company phone, or a wife could put it on her husband's phone and vice versa - and there's no way to block the spyware or detect it.
