Election Day for the Valley - Nov. 3

Phoenix voters go to the polls Tuesday to elect two members of the City Council.

In District 3 in northeast Phoenix, Councilman Bill Gates is being challenged by insurance agent Greg Tripoli.

In District 6, encompassing Ahwatukee and parts of east Phoenix, Councilman Sal Di Ciccio is being challenged by Dana Marie Kennedy.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Several other cities and towns across the Valley have elections on Tuesday. Cave Creek voters will decide the fate of a proposed Walmart Supercenter at Cave Creek Road and the Carefree Highway. There are budget overrides and bond elections in 28 school districts.

Voters are required to show proof of identity at their polling places. Those who who not have acceptable identification may vote a provisional ballot and present identification later.
