Many people flock to the valley over the winter for an extended stay. Nebraska folks Ellen and Stanley Garretson are two of those people. Two weeks into their visit, Stanley suffered a heart attack.
But thanks to some new technology available in the valley, his medical emergency turned into the luckiest day of his life.
Turns out the paramedics who responded were part of a pilot program for a digital defibrillator monitor that allows for the immediate transmission of medical information from the field, including a diagnostic quality EKG, right to the hospital.
FOX 10's John Hook reports.
