PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. - Robert McCall, a prominent Paradise Valley artist, passed away over the weekend.
He was 90.
McCall has received international acclaim for his work on space murals. He created the six-story wall at Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., and the 27,000-square-foot "Tour of the Universe" that wraps the rotunda at the Challenger Space Center in Peoria.
McCall's work was depicted on postage stamps, and he created the poster for Stanley Kubrick's movie, "2001: A Space Odyssey."
