PHOENIX - A little boy nearly drowned in a pool, even though he was surrounded by adults.
Firefighters say two things happened that made this situation worse.
Rescuers say the family was swimming in an apartment complex's pool near 75th Avenue and McDowell.
The boy's mother looked away for just a second to get a towel, but when she turned around, the 2-year-old was under water.
He was pulled out of the pool and C.P.R. was performed.
Firefighters say it took them longer to arrive at the scene because they were given the wrong address.
The family also took the child to the apartment's parking lot to wait for the rescue crew. Firefighters say that was a mistake because they thought the boy was at the pool.
The boy was alert and crying when firefighters did arrive at the scene and he will be okay.
