Fundraisers Tuesday for Officer Murphy's Family

PHOENIX - Three valley businesses are stepping up to help the family of fallen Phoenix police officer Travis Murphy.

Police officers from all over the state will be serving people at Famous Dave's off the Loop 202 and Dobson Tuesday night.

All proceeds go to the family of Officer Murphy. He was killed in the line of duty last month, and leaves behind a wife, a 2-year-old daughter, and a newborn baby boy.

"They just had an infant child. There are bills coming in from that, hospital bills right now, so that will assist in taking care of those bills, and of course regular day-to-day bills, house payments, and car payments, and other necessities of daily life," says Harold McDonald with the Mesa Police Association.

Peter Piper Pizza will also host a fundraising event for Officer Murphy. 15 percent of sales made at their location near 40th St and Thomas will go to his family.
