Renters Evicted on Monday, Home Burns on Tuesday

A fire burns the home of a Phoenix family who was recently evicted from the property.

The fire began early Tuesday morning in the Sunnyslope neighborhood near 5th Avenue and Hatcher.

The Phoenix Fire Department says the family had moved all of their belongings out of the home onto the front lawn.  They were also sleeping outside to possibly keep an eye on their things.

The cause of the fire is not known, but investigators say it began in the back of the home.
