A grand jury has indicted a 32-year-old man in connection to two sexual assaults and one failed sexual assault attempt.
Jose Ephrain Gomez-Gomez has been indicted on 16 criminal charges including sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual abuse, kidnapping, robbery, and burglary.
The attempted assault took place in May 2007. Phoenix Police arrested Gomez-Gomez on Nov. 14 after he was forensically linked to two rapes in July 2007 and 2009. In both sexual assaults, DNA was collected but a match was never found -- until now.
The suspect lived just a block away from the 2009 victim. He admitted to all three incidents after one of the victim's belongings was found in his home.
Gomez-Gomez is believed to be an illegal immigrant from Honduras. He's being held without bond.
