EL MIRAGE - A toddler was taken to the hospital Monday after a 27-inch fell on top of her.

It happened at an apartment in El Mirage. Firefighters say when they arrived the 2-year-old girl was lethargic and slow-movin, but conscious.

She was taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital as a precaution. Crews think the girl may have been trying to climb up the television or the television stand.

"Kids are climbers, some are more of a climber than others. And the TV is very top heavy, especially not the flatscreen ones, you know they are heavy as well. But they climb up on these small TV stands and it just comes down right on top of them," says El Mirage Fire Department Asst. Chief Howard Munding.

Firefighters say parents should look around their home and either remove or anchor down anything that might tip over.
