2-Year-Old Child Drowns in Peoria

PEORIA - A 2 year-old boy has drowned after being found in a backyard pool in Peoria.

Firefighters say family members found the young child in a backyard pool near 75th Ave and Cactus and began to perform CPR. When paramedics arrived, they continued efforts to resuscitate him, but he died on the way to the hospital.

Paramedics say there was no fence or barrier around the pool.

Several other children were at home at the time, including the 2-year-old twin's sibling.
