Man Rescued Off Balcony During Mesa Apartment Fire

MESA - Several apartments burned Sunday night near University and Val Vista and firefighters arrived at just the right time.

The fire apparently started in the first floor unit just about 8:15 p.m. It had spread to several adjacent units and several on the second level.

Dave Johnson with Mesa Fire says a 39-year-old male resident was rescued off a balcony, but was not injured.

It's not clear what caused the fire. Residents in six units are affected.

No other injuries were reported.
