Going to malls, theaters...the internet - activities your teens probably do on a regular basis. But did you know it's also the most common place for girls to be targeted by traffickers?
FOX 10's Diane Ryan has the details on a big concern, right here in the valley.
May 17:
"Don't be a Victim" education & awareness night for parents ... event hosted by PAAS (Phoenix Area Against Slavery) will teach parents and youth how traffickers look for unsuspecting girls in shopping malls, at parties, online, etc., and trick them into coming with them. Event begins at 6:30pm, on Hope's campus. Free, open to the public.
May 23:
Branded film screening ... event hosted and conducted by Streetlight, Not for Sale Arizona, and the Phoenix Police Department Vice Squad. This recently produced, 50-minute film exposes the dangers of human trafficking toward minors and how local organizations are getting involved to help make a difference. Event begins at 6:00pm, on Hope's campus. Free, open to the public.
