CORNVILLE, Ariz. - Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies say that a 62-year-old woman was hit by a car while walking her dog -- all at the hands of a 14-year-old girl who was joyriding in her mother's car.
The juvenile admitted to taking the vehicle from her Cornville, Ariz. home and losing control of the car.
The car struck the woman, who was walking her dog along Swinging Bridge Lane. YCSO says the woman was treated for broken bones in her legs -- and her injuries do not appear life-threatening.
The dog was also hit by the car. The dog ran from the scene and suffered only minor injuries.
The girl had taken the keys and driven the vehicle without her mother's permission, deputies say. The minor could be facing charges. Authorities are awaiting the results of a urine sample.
