FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - A fund has been set up to aid residents north of Flagstaff in recovering from recent flooding.
Donations are being accepted through the United Way of Northern Arizona.
Floodwaters rushed through communities north of Flagstaff this week, carrying large boulders, ash and other debris. Dozens of homes were damaged, fences knocked down and driveways washed out.
The potential for flooding increased after a 15,000-acre wildfire burned uphill from the communities last month.
Those wanting to help fill sandbags, remove debris or go door to door to provide health and safety information have been asked to report to a volunteer center Saturday off north U.S. 89. Close-toed shoes or boots, work clothing and rain gear is recommended.
