Four men killed in a van crash Wednesday near Crown King north of Phoenix have been identified by Yavapai County authorities.

They are identified as 47-year-old Kevin Waycaster and his 16-year-old son Micah of Glendale and 67-year-old Garry Schneider of Phoenix.

A fourth victim, Robert "Bob" Fisher of Phoenix is in his 70's.

The victims were from various church groups participating in a men's retreat in the area.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said the four died after the sports-utility vehicle they were in left Cow Creek Road about 6 miles south of Crown King and plunged about 100 feet off the roadway.

YCSO personnel on scene report that the victim’s families have overwhelming support from the various church groups who participated in this event.

Kevin Schaal, Senior Pastor of Nortwest Valley Baptist Church, issued the following statement:

“Yesterday, a terrible car accident took the lives of four members of our church family. They were driving near Crown King when their SUV went off the road. At the request of the family members, I will be available to conduct media interviews or answer specific questions.”

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
